Our Beginning

HK Tea House traces its roots back to the early 1980s. Our founder, Mr. Lai , recognised that the general public in Hong Kong had only limited knowledge of tea. With a deep passion for preserving and promoting tea culture, he hoped to inspire greater interest in choosing and appreciating tea.

HK Tea House has always upheld the belief that “good tea should be enjoyed by everyone.” Regardless of price, we believe every person in Hong Kong should be able to enjoy the pleasure that quality tea brings to everyday life.

Our Original Mission

From regions across China to Taiwan, we carefully select fine teas from renowned origins. Our professional team personally visits tea-growing areas to choose the most representative teas, followed by meticulous selection and careful roasting, all to ensure that every cup delivers exceptional aroma and flavour.

HK Tea House was also an industry pioneer in Hong Kong, becoming one of the first to introduce vacuum packaging technology. We maintain strict standards for quality and hygiene to preserve the freshness and purity of every tea leaf.

Our Vision

At HK Tea House, we believe tea should not be a luxury reserved for a few, but an everyday pleasure that everyone can enjoy.

Whether you are a devoted tea lover or simply beginning your tea journey, we hope you can find a tea that suits your taste at HK Tea House, and let the beauty of tea accompany your daily life.

Our Development Over the Years

    The 1990s

HK Tea House began as a wholesaler of Chinese goods and gradually focused on promoting tea culture. In the 1990s, we entered Japanese department stores for the first time and opened Hong Kong’s first Chinese tea counter of its kind. We also helped popularise free tea tasting, bringing tea appreciation into everyday life.

Our partners included major department stores such as Daimaru, Yaohan, SOGO and UNY.

    The 2000s

From the 2000s onwards, we opened tea specialty stores in PARKnSHOP and actively expanded our retail counter network. During this period, we also organised the Longjing Festival, inviting tea masters from Hangzhou to give live tea-pan-firing demonstrations, which helped spark a growing enthusiasm for tea appreciation in Hong Kong.

    Today

Today, HK Tea House has retail counters across various shopping malls in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. We also participate in pop-up sales and exhibitions at venues such as AEON, YATA and SOGO from time to time, while offering online shopping for tea through our e-store, so that tea lovers can enjoy quality tea anytime, anywhere from the comfort of home.
